LOW WATER PRESSURE NOTICE: Watermain Investigation Work
What Work is Taking Place?
On April 3, 2017, crews will begin subsurface utility engineering (SUE) investigation of a large 900mm watermain in the Eglinton Avenue West and Chaplin Crescent area. The watermain will be exposed to determine the utility and ground conditions in advance of wet utilities relocation. Support of Excavation at Cedarvale Station
What Work is Taking Place?
- Over the last year tunnel work in the vicinity of Allen Road has concluded and preparatory work for station construction has started. The next phase of work will involve further utility relocations as well as the start of support of excavation work (also known as shoring) for the future Cedarvale Station.
- The entire shoring and road decking installation process will take approximately 18-24 months to complete and will be conducted in phases.

- To prepare for track and system installation in the new LRT tunnels, concrete must be poured to form the foundation of the track.

Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Investigations at Cedarvale Station
What Work is Taking Place?
- To prepare for future construction of Cedarvale Station, crews will be conducting Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations along the shoulder of Allen Road North and South, north of Eglinton Avenue West.
- Crews will drill bore holes and use a hydro-vacuum truck on the shoulder of the road to determine the location of the underground utilities and the ground conditions around the intersection for design purposes.

- Work is expected to begin the evening of October 12th and will take approximately two
Geotechnical Instrumentation and Monitoring at Cedarvale Station
What Work is Taking Place?
- Geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring is required for the protection of the existing buildings and underground utilities by monitoring movements of the ground, support of excavation, utilities, structures and groundwater regime, prior, during and following construction in order to assess the need for implementation of mitigation measures.
- Crews will drill approximately 15+ boreholes in the Cedarvale Station area to install geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring equipment.
