Next Stage: Bayview Headwall Construction – Shift to South Side and Middle Lanes on Eglinton Avenue East

What work is starting?

What: Crews will continue constructing the east and west headwalls for the future Bayview Station in advance of the tunnelling works.  On the east side of Bayview Avenue, crews will be shifting construction to the middle lanes on Eglinton Avenue East. Sewer Work – Eglinton Avenue East between Banff Road and Bayview Avenue

As you know, tunnelling for the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit (LRT) line will continue through 2016. Sewer Work – Eglinton Avenue East between Banff Road and Bayview Avenue

What: To prepare for west headwall construction for the future Bayview Station, crews are rehabilitating and upgrading an existing underground sewer on Eglinton Avenue East between east of Banff Road and west of Bayview Avenue. 

When: Work began in December, 2015, and will continue for several weeks. Work may be rescheduled or adjusted due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Temporary Sewer Work - Walder Avenue

What work is starting?

What: In conjunction with the nearby Eglinton Avenue East sewer rehabilitation work, crews will be excavating for temporary bypass pipes on the west side of Walder Avenue in the southbound lane.

Tunnelling for the Crosstown: What you may experience

As you know, tunnelling continues on the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (LRT) project as we build the underground portion of the future transit line. 

The tunnel boring machines (TBMs) operate around the clock - 24 hours a day, seven days week. On average, they each travel about 10 metres per day. Our TBMs are working about 20 metres below ground, but we do sometimes hear from nearby residents who may experience vibration from the TBMs as they pass through the area.    Lire la suite »
