CIVIL WORKS AT SCIENCE CENTRE STATION BUS TERMINAL

DON MILLS ROAD AND EGLINTON AVENUE EAST

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Temporary traffic deck removals continue at the Don Mills Road and Eglinton Station.  In addition to these activities, crews will begin civil works which includes curb installations, sidewalks and paving the exterior bus terminal. To accommodate these activities, a realignment of the current traffic staging will be implemented as early as April 2, 2020 (depicted below).

HOURS OF WORK

  • Traffic realignment is expected to take place on April 2, 2020.
  • Civil works are expected to begin April 6, 2020 for approximately four (4) weeks.  
  • Construction works may occur between 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday to Sunday. 
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.
  • This traffic change and related construction activities may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. 

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Traffic realignment on Don Mills Road north of Eglinton to accommodate civil works at the future Science Centre Station bus terminal.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • Re-alignment of current northbound/southbound traffic staging on Don Mills Road north of Eglinton Avenue East.  
  • The same number of lanes will be maintained. 

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • No impact to existing pedestrian routes.

TRANSIT INFORMATION

  • The northbound bus stop on Don Mills Road north of Eglinton Avenue East will be shifted 20m north of its current location. 
  • The relocation of bus stops and the re-routing of buses are done in consultation with the TTC to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers.
