CONCRETE POUR AND TRAIL CLOSURE UNDER THE WEST DON RIVER BRIDGE

What Work is Taking Place?
 

On April 1, 2020, a closure of the road and trail under the West Don River Bridge will be implemented to accommodate a concrete pour at the West Don River Bridge on Eglinton Avenue East, west of Leslie Street. Crews will be pouring the north sidewalk at the bridge, the pour will take up to one (1) day to complete. There will be no north to south or south to north access under Eglinton Avenue East. The closure is required for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

All works are in support of the construction of the Crosstown and new LRT tracks and guideway (dedicated transit lane) in the center of Eglinton Avenue East.


Hours of Work

  • The concrete pour will take place on April 1, 2020 between the hours of 7:00a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • This work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Crews will be pouring the north sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East at the West Don River Bridge.
  • Concrete trucks will be staged on Eglinton Avenue East. 
  • A concrete pump will be staged under Eglinton Avenue East at the West Don River Bridge.
  • Equipment and material storage within the work zone.
  • Fencing and concrete barriers may be installed around the work zone.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

  • The road and trail passing underneath the West Don River Bridge on Eglinton Avenue East, will be temporarily  closed for the duration of the work to protect the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
  • Signage will be installed in advance notifying the public of the closure.

Transit Information

  • There are no changes to the existing TTC stops.
