WEST OF THE WYNFORD DRIVE BRIDGE
What Work is Taking Place?
Guideway construction is underway along Eglinton Avenue East between the Don Valley Parkway and Wynford Drive. To facilitate an upcoming guideway duct bank pour west of Wynford Drive, a periodic single lane closure of the inner eastbound lane will be required on November 13, 2019. Preparatory work will begin as early as 5:00 a.m. Temporary lane closures are required for the staging of concrete trucks and pumps.
Timing
- November 13, 2019 5:00 a.m. – 4:00p.m.
o Concrete pour and temporary closure of the inner eastbound lane on Eglinton Avenue East between the Don Valley Parkway and Wynford Drive Bridge.
- The alternative date for this pour is November 14, 2019.
- The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
- Work may be rescheduled or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
What to Expect
- Concrete barriers will be temporarily removed to access guideway work zone for concrete pour.
- Periodic single lane closure of one (1) eastbound lane to accommodate the staging of concrete trucks and pumps.
- Guideway construction includes cutting and removal of asphalt, excavation, installation of subgrade materials, duct bank and track drainage installation, and track slab and stop construction.
- Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when travelling through the work zone. As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
Traffic Impacts
- Temporary closures of the inner eastbound lane on Eglinton Avenue East between the Celestica Bridge and the Don Valley Parkway East.
TTC Impacts
- There will be no impacts to existing TTC stops.
Travelling Smart During Construction
Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
