Dewatering Works at Howard Talbot Park

Eglinton Avenue East and Bayview Avenue


What Work is Taking Place?
 

The Leaside team has completed the drilling of vertical wells in a small section of Howard Talbot Park at the south east corner of Eglinton Avenue East and Bayview Avenue (work zone depicted below). As early as December 4 through to December 13, crews will be working to finalize the well installation and connection at this site.

Timing

  • As early as December 4 crews will perform well installation and connections through to December 13, 2019.
  • Works will continue daily between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.  

What to Expect

  • Dewatering work will be performed around the City’s existing water main at Howard Park. 
  • Crews have completed vertical drilling of wells and trenches and will now connect to the existing dewatering system.
  • Equipment and material storage will continue within the work zone.
  • Noise from hand tools and construction vehicles can be expected.
  • Restoration and reinstatement of landscaping will be done following the completion of the work.
  • A fence will be installed around the work zone for public safety.

Pedestrian Impacts

  • There will be no pedestrian access from the east side of Bayview to Eglinton Avenue. Pedestrians should cross at Soudan.
  • Howard Talbot Park pathway on the east side of the Main Entrance will be closed. 

Transit Information

  • There is no impact to existing TTC stops.

Travelling Smart during Construction 

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
