EARLY MORNING START FOR GUIDEWAY EXCAVATION ON EGLINTON AVENUE EAST: EAST DON RIVER BRIDGE TO SWIFT DRIVE

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

Guideway construction is underway along Eglinton Avenue East between the East Don River Bridge and Swift Drive. To facilitate continued excavation, work is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. starting as early as Monday, October 28, 2019 for a period of three (3) weeks.

 

TIMING

  • Work is expected to occur from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven (7) days per week, Monday through Sunday.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled or extended due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Concrete barriers may be temporarily removed for construction vehicles entering and exiting the guideway work zone.
  • Flaggers will be onsite to direct trucks.
  • Guideway construction includes cutting and removal of asphalt, excavation, installation of subgrade materials, duct bank and track drainage installation, and track slab and stop construction.
  • Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when travelling through the work zone. As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
