Traffic Change at Fairbank Station
What Work is Taking Place?
- Since fall 2016, crews have been conducting support of excavation work (also known as shoring) at the Main Entrance and Service Building sites of the future Fairbank Station. In the spring, crews began shoring of the station box, as well as wet utilities relocation, on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West.

Avenue Construction Updates - October 18
Construction Activities at Avenue Road and Eglinton
As we gear up to begin mining operations at the Secondary Entrance in November, there are many other parcels of preparatory work to complete. Construction outside of the long-term set up is very active and will be for the rest of the year.
Residents and businesses can expect to see many works happening at various locations in the roadway or on the sidewalk, often at the same time.
Preparing to Realign Allen Road South
PREPARING TO REALIGN ALLEN ROAD SOUTH
In early 2018, the construction work zones and traffic set up will change again for the next phase of support of excavation (shoring) activities on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West at Allen Road.
This requires the Allen Road South off-ramp to be realigned approximately 20m west.
The existing All Road South off-ramp will be in place as-is until early 2018.

Sewer Lining Activities at Avenue Station - Bypass Installation & Lining Operations
SEWER LINING AT AVENUE STATION
The entire sewer lining process will take approximately 4 – 6 weeks to complete.
Sewer bypass work takes place in the daytime construction hours.
Sewer lining work takes place on a 24 hour schedule.

Early Morning Equipment Move and Deliveries at Chaplin Station
What Work is Taking Place?
On Friday October 13, crews will move heavy equipment from the southwest work zone eastward along Eglinton Avenue to the southeast work zone.
On Tuesday October 17, crews will receive a large delivery of steel beams to be hoisted from Eglinton Avenue into the work zone. Lire la suite »
Mining at Avenue Station
Mining is expected to begin in November 2017, and will carry on through to late 2019.
What Work is Happening?
The Eglinton Crosstown includes a 10-kilometre underground portion, between Weston Road and Laird Drive, where 15 below-grade stations are under construction. Eleven will be built using a “cut-and cover” method and four, including Avenue Station, are going to be “mined.”

- Minimal noise is expected from both pieces of work.

What Work is Taking Place?
The term “dewatering” means pumping water from the ground at a site where there will be excavation and is essential before and during upcoming mining operations at Avenue Station. The dewatering system is installed in two phases, drilling of the wells and then digging shallow trenches to connect the wells and lay the pipes, pumps, and valves for the system. Lire la suite »
