What Work is Taking Place?
On Monday, September 19, 2022, crews at Caledonia Station started performing sidewalk restoration works on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West between Gabian Way and east of Blackthorn Avenue. To facilitate this work, the sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West between Gabian Way and east of Blackthorn Avenue will be temporarily closed. Pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone. Eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane between Gabian Way and east of Blackthorn Avenue. A road closure will be in effect on Blackthorn Avenue at Eglinton Avenue West to complete this work. The eastbound TTC bus stop at Blackthorn Avenue will be temporarily relocated approximately 30 metres west.This work has been extended as of September 29, 2022 for for approximately three (3) weeks. This works is expected to take place on Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
What to Expect
Noise from construction activities, including concrete breaking and pouring, can be expected. A short-term road closure on Blackthorn Avenue at Eglinton Avenue West will be required to complete this work. Expect delays while travelling through the area. The sidewalk will reopen upon completion of the work.
HOURS OF WORK
- As early as September 29, 2022, for approximately three (3) weeks.
- This work is expected to take place on Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.
- This work may be longer or shorter than expected.
TRAFFIC DETAILS
- Eastbound traffic on Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane between Gabian Way and east of Blackthorn Avenue.
- A road closure will be in effect on Blackthorn Avenue at Eglinton Avenue West to complete this work.
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
- The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West will be temporarily closed between Gabian Way and east of Blackthorn Avenue.
- Pedestrians will be safely rerouted around the work zone.
TRANSIT INFORMATION
- The eastbound TTC bus stop located at Blackthorn Avenue will be temporarily relocated approximately 30 metres west.
- Access to TTC will be maintained at all times.
