What Work is Taking Place?

In mid-November crews began to set-up work zones within the roadway at both the northwest and southwest corners of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East as crews continue to relocate existing utilities at the intersection. Work began on relocating hydro utilities and work continues on relocating telecommunication lines within man holes as well within pre-existing duct banks in preparation for station construction.  Lire la suite »

Construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT line, including 15 underground stations, is underway. Since the end of school, many construction sites have been set up for station construction and the set-up of some major intersections along Eglinton Avenue has been changed.

What work is starting?

In February 2016, crews began conducting preparatory activities in the Eglinton Avenue East vicinity to make way for the future Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

As you know, tunnelling continues on the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (LRT) project as we build the underground portion of the future transit line. 

The tunnel boring machines (TBMs) operate around the clock - 24 hours a day, seven days week. On average, they each travel about 10 metres per day. Our TBMs are working about 20 metres below ground, but we do sometimes hear from nearby residents who may experience vibration from the TBMs as they pass through the area.    Lire la suite »
