Construction Delays at Bathurst Street and Avenue Road

juin 23, 2015

Dear Neighbours,

We understand and appreciate that you have endured our construction activities for months already and will have to endure it for many more months to come.  We regret the inconvenience that construction causes as we build the Eglinton Crosstown LRT project.

You may have noticed some weeks ago that work had slowed down and then came to a stop at many of our work sites. The Ministry of Environment had concerns about the method by which our contractor had been dealing with jet grout spoilage. While this was being examined, minor work continued at a reduced capacity, but construction was suspended for the most part. To ensure only accurate information made its way to everyone, community relations staff previously provided the details that were confirmed and are currently providing notice of additional updates.

The matter has now been resolved and work will begin to resume at our sites. Due to the specialized process of jet grouting and required equipment, crews will resume work at the various sites along Eglinton Avenue including: Peveril Hill North, Bathurst Street (east side), Duncannon Drive, Avenue Road (west side), and Lascelles Avenue, including the associated activity of the grout plants at Gilgorm Road and Highbourne Avenue. Due to the delay, construction schedules must be adjusted over the coming weeks to continue moving the project forward. Work in these sites will continue throughout summer and into fall 2015.

We wish to sincerely thank you for your ongoing patience with construction along Eglinton Avenue. We will continue to keep you informed about our work schedules.  Please do contact the Crosstown Community Relations Team at 416-782-8118 if you have further questions.

Best regards,

Jamie Robinson
