Demolition Work for Forest Hill (formerly Bathurst) Station

In February 2016, crews began conducting preparatory activities in the Bathurst Street and Eglinton Avenue West vicinity to make way for the future Forest Hill Station.

Upcoming Works – Demolition – Subject to Community Council Approval

Forest Hill Map

  • Four commercial and residential properties along the Eglinton Avenue West corridor will be demolished to make way for the construction of Forest Hill Station
  • The properties are located at 842, 870, 874, 875 and876 Eglinton Avenue West
  • The plaza at 876 Eglinton Avenue West will be demolished to provide a work site for workers. This property will not be part of the future Forest Hill LRT Station.
  • For safety purposes, temporary fencing will be installed around each demolition site

Timing

  • Demolition works will last for approximately three months, and are expected to begin as early as late-February 2016, subject to all relevant approvals
  • Demolition works will take place between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM

What to expect

  • Residents and businesses near demolition sites should anticipate increased noise from excavators, bobcats, and other construction equipment and dust caused by demolition activity and removal of debris

Traffic Impacts

  • Road closures are not anticipated for demolition works 
  • Sidewalk and property access will be maintained 

What’s next?

  • Following demolition, a crew will install construction fencing, set up work zone areas, and begin early utility relocation work. Further details will be communicated as they become available
