Shoring for Caledonia Station

novembre 21, 2016

What Work is Taking Place?

Beginning in November 2016, crews will start support of excavation work, also known as shoring, at the future Caledonia Station.  The station is located on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West between Gabian Way and Croham Road (in front of Westside Mall).  Shoring is a common step in the process of constructing the foundation of a building.  Steel piles, as well as braces and tie-backs, will be installed around the perimeter of the station box area to support excavation. This stage will take approximately sixteen (16) weeks to complete.

  • This work will be conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, with crews working until 11:00 PM on a regular basis

  • In the event that overnight work is required, Metrolinx and CTS will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout
