UPDATE: Traffic reconfiguration in support of excavation works and utility relocations beginning February 17 for Science Centre Station

février 7, 2017

What Work is Taking Place?

As part of the continued support of excavation works and utility relocations for the future Science Centre station, traffic staging at the intersection of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East will be changing as early as February 17, 2017.

Weather permitting – the traffic reconfiguration is expected to take place over the weekend of February 18, 2017 and additional lane reductions will be required during the set-up. Once complete, this new set up will remain in place for up to three (3) months.

Traffic will be shifted to the south side of Eglinton Avenue, allowing work to proceed on the north side. Utility relocations at the northwest and southwest corners and road widening continue and piling on the north side of Eglinton Avenue will begin. Excavation will also begin for the off-street bus terminal at the northeast corner.

Hours of Work

  • Work zone set-up will begin as early as February 17, 2017 and take up to approximately one (1) week to complete. Once complete, this set up will remain in place for up to three (3) months.
  • Most of the work is expected to be performed between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM, however the contractor is permitted to work between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, 7 days a week. The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Limited overnight works may also be expected. Updates on works taking place during overnight periods will be communicated separately.
