Cedarvale Station Utilities Relocations

What work is taking place?

To make way for the future Cedarvale interchange station, work will commence to replace and relocate existing utilities in the area of Allen Road and Eglinton Avenue West. Work is permit pending.

Storm and sanitary sewers and water mains will be replaced and relocated in the following areas:

  • Eglinton Avenue West at Park Hill Road.
  • North-south along Winnett Avenue.
  • East-west along the police station parking lot.
  • North-south along Everden Road.
  • Existing storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and water mains will be removed.


  • This work is expected to begin as early as late-April 2017 and last for be approximately 4 - 6 months.
  • Work can be expected between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, 7 days a week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Occasional overnight work may be required – Metrolinx will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout.
  • Work outside these hours may be required for other construction activities. This information will be communicated separately. Work may be delayed due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by loaders, trucks and other construction equipment, as well as dust from drilling activity and debris removal.
  • Road closures and lane restrictions will be required to carry out the work.
  • Access for local residents will be maintained.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • For safety purposes, metal fencing will be erected around the work zone, signage for traffic and public diversions, and there will be dust control measures in place.
