What work is taking place?

Crews will undertake hydro utility works around Oakwood Station to complete temporary power connections to the station entrances. This will involve overhead and pole replacement work as well as civil works in the ground.


Work will occur in the intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue, on the west sidewalk of Oakwood Avenue from Eglinton Avenue West to Lanark Avenue and on the south sidewalk of Eglinton Avenue West, west of Glenholme Avenue.

  • Work will be performed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • Work will start as soon as May 18 2017 and take approximately six weeks to complete.  Please note that work could be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. 

What to expect

  • Construction crews and equipment will be present along roadways and sidewalks along Eglinton Avenue West.
  • Pedestrians, businesses and residents near the work site can expect to hear trucks, excavators, backhoes, saw-cutting, hydro-vaccing and other construction equipment.


Traffic and Pedestrian Details

  • A minimum of 1.5 metres of sidewalk width will be maintained for pedestrians; however this may include a rerouting of the sidewalk. Please watch for signs directing pedestrians.
  • Lane closures will be in place near the work zone.
  • Parking spots will be impacted in certain areas to accommodate traffic flow with reduced lanes.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites


Transit Impacts

  • Short duration relocation of bus stops is done in consultation between TTC and Metrolinx to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers. Please watch for posted notices indicating new information.
