What work is taking Place?

Crews will complete temporary water and sanitary connections at the Main and Secondary Entrance.

Work will occur in the intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue and on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West at approximately 1615 Eglinton Avenue West (Secondary Entrance site). Work will be completed in five stages to minimize impacts on traffic and pedestrian routes. Intersection will remain open at all times however there will be lane reductions.  


  • Work will be performed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
  • During a one (1) week period work will be performed overnight between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Work will start as soon as September 20th 2017 and take approximately three (3) weeks to complete.   
  • Please note that work could be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Construction crews and equipment will be present along roadways and sidewalks along Eglinton Avenue West.
  • Pedestrians, businesses and residents near the work site can expect to hear trucks, hydro-vaccing, excavators, backhoes, saw-cutting, and other construction equipment.

Traffic and Pedestrian Details

  • A minimum of 1.5 metres of sidewalk width will be maintained for pedestrians; however this may include a rerouting of the sidewalk. Please watch for signs directing pedestrians.
  • Lane closures will be in place near the work zone.
  • Parking spots will be impacted in certain areas to accommodate traffic flow with reduced lanes.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites

Transit Impacts

  • Short duration relocation of bus stops is done in consultation between TTC and Metrolinx to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers. Please watch for posted notices indicating new information.
