Next Stage: Support of Excavation Works at Leaside Station: Stage 1B

septembre 25, 2017

What Work is Taking Place?

Earlier in 2017, crews started support of excavation work, also known as shoring, at the main entrance site and in the city right of way at the future Leaside Station.  The station is located at the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East.  Steel piles as well as braces and tie-backs will be installed around the perimeter of the station box and entrances to support excavation.  Once steel piles are installed in each area, shallow excavation occurs and wooden decking is installed over the excavated area followed by reinstatement of the roadway. The entire process will take approximately 15 months.

Hours of Work

  • The traffic configuration in the intersection will change in early-October 2017 and will last for approximately two (2) months.
  • Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, 7 days a week. Crews will be working until 11:00 PM on a regular basis.
  • Occasional overnight work may be required – Metrolinx and CTS will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect
