Upcoming Parking Reduction at Kennedy Station in April 2018

avril 5, 2018

As part of construction of the future Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (ECLRT), improvements are also being made to the GO Corridor Stouffville Line at Kennedy Station. These include building a new west platform, rebuilding the existing east platform, constructing a new ticketing building for the GO Station, and building a new south pedestrian underpass.

In order to facilitate these improvements, roughly 113 parking spaces at the South Parking Lot will be removed so that the work can be undertaken in a safe manner.

What Work is Taking Place?

  • Removal of parking spaces at the South Parking Lot at Kennedy Station (see details below).
  • A reduction of parking spaces in the South Parking Lot is required to support GO transit improvements and the construction of the future Kennedy Station infrastructure.
  • The parking spaces will be occupied for work zones and construction laydown areas to facilitate a variety of construction stages until completion in 2021.

TTC and GO Transit Impacts

  • There should be no impact to TTC transit services (bus, subway, and rapid transit) from this work.
  • During construction, about 113 additional commuter parking spaces will be temporarily eliminated in the TTC South Parking Lot from April 8, 2018 to project completion (in 2021) to safely conduct the work.

Alternative Parking Options

  • Additional commuter parking is available at TTC Warden Station North Parking Lot — 3.9 km south west (705 Warden Avenue).
  • For TTC commuter parking lot information, please call 416-393-4636 or visit the TTC website for more details: http://www.ttc.ca/Subway/Stations/Warden/parking.jsp
