What Work is Taking Place?

In support of construction of the future Kennedy Station, crews will be disconnecting and isolating old cables. This work will entail the removal of existing power cables from the existing duct bank for new cables to be installed. Power will be restored after installation. A temporary hydro shutoff is required at 2267 Eglinton Avenue East – Don Montgomery Community Centre. The hydro outage is expected to be of a duration of approximately 10 to 13 hours — if no unforeseen circumstances are encountered during the work.

Hours of Work

  • Date: Saturday, September 1st 2018  
  • Time: Between 7:00 a.m. and approximately 8:00 p.m.  
  • Duration: Approximately 10 to 13 hours
  • Note: Unexpected circumstances (weather, equipment failure, etc.) may also change the above interruption plans or prolong the interruption. If this occurs, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice.

What to Expect

Temporary power outage will affect the following address on Eglinton Avenue East:

  • 2467 Eglinton Avenue East
  • Arena and facilities will be closed for the day
  • There will be power ONLY to the refrigeration equipment
