WATERMAIN LINING & VALVE INSTALLATIONS OAKWOOD STATION SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER 2018 UPDATE

septembre 21, 2018

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

To increase the durability of local watermains during mining operations at Oakwood Station, sections in the vicinity of station construction zone will be lined. Lining of the watermain is a minimally invasive method of repair and rehabilitation that is commonly used throughout the City of Toronto. Using this process allows us to complete the work without excavating the entire watermain through the road.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Removal of above ground temporary water service pipes, week of October 21 to 26, daytime and overnight work

Lane reductions and on-street parking impacted periodically on Eglinton Ave W, between Oakwood and Alameda

TTC southbound and northbound stops will be relocated further south on Oakwood during restorations on Oakwood and Reggae Lane.

Residents and businesses near the work zone can expected to hear noise from generators, compressors, hydro-vacuum trucks, and other construction equipment.
