Large Tower Crane Delivery and Installation at Kennedy Station

What Work is Taking Place?

On Tuesday, October 16, 2018 a large tower crane will be delivered to Kennedy Station in advance of deep excavation works. The tower crane will be erected at Compound 2, within the existing construction zone at Kennedy Station (adjacent to Transway Crescent). 

The tower crane will be erected on the concrete base (pictured below). Delivery and set-up will take one day to complete.  

Hours of Work

  • Work will begin as early as Tuesday, October 16 and the crane installation will take approximately one (1) day to complete.
  • Installation work will take place between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Nearby businesses and residents can expect to hear noise caused by construction vehicles and equipment.
  • Road users can expect delays when travelling through the work site.

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

  • Minor traffic interruptions can be expected while trucks enter and exit the work site.
  • A traffic controller/flag person(s) will be on-site to direct traffic, as needed.
  • The traffic controller/flag person(s) may stop traffic intermittently for trucks to safely enter and exit the site for deliveries.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
