On March 27 and 28, the traffic conditions at Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East will change. These changes will facilitate work on a large watermain on the north east corner of the intersection.

Please review changes to lane configurations and turn restrictions on the map below. This stage will be in place for approximately 12 weeks. This is the same set-up that was in place from late October to early January. 



  • The new temporary traffic lights will continue to operate at Roehampton Avenue and Bayview Avenue.
  • There will be no left turns allowed for north and southbound traffic from Bayview Avenue to Eglinton Avenue (Right turns allowed).
  • There will be no left or right turns allowed for westbound traffic, through traffic movement only.
  • Right turns for northbound, southbound and eastbound traffic are restricted on a red light.
  • One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained.
  • There are no dedicated turn lanes during this stage.
  • The north-south crosswalk on the east side of Bayview Avenue will be closed.
  • The Eglinton Avenue north sidewalk between Bayview Ave and Sunnybrook Plaza will be closed.
  • PDOs and/or traffic control persons may be on site to assist traffic in the area where necessary.
  • TTC Stop locations are indicated on the map above.


  • Permitted hours are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven (7) days per week
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances


  • Occasional overnight work may be required. Metrolinx will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by a excavation equipment, hydrovac trucks, concrete delivery, loaders, trucks and other construction equipment.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • For safety purposes, fencing will be erected around the work zone.
  • All access to businesses is maintained throughout the stages.



  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
  • Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction.
