Tertiary Entrance Excavation Update at Chaplin Station

Excavation continues at the Chaplin Station Tertiary Entrance site, located on the south side of Eglinton Avenue, east of Chaplin Crescent, beside the former Toronto Fire Hall.  Excavators dig and remove soil from the work zone.  Excavated material will be transferred into dump trucks and hauled to an off-site facility.  Installation of tie-backs will take place from within the site as excavation progresses.  Excavation will begin at 6:00 a.m. on weekdays.

Excavation will take place between 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., weekdays

WHAT TO EXPECT

Pedestrian changes will be in effect beginning August 26 and will be communicated in a separate notice

Noise from excavators and dump trucks

Frequent dump truck activity at the site gates, located at the south side of the Tertiary Entrance

Utilities work and shallow excavation will take place in the southeast station box area while excavation at the Tertiary Entrance is underway

For safety, pedestrians travelling near the site gates will be stopped when trucks enter and exit the site  

Motorists can expect delays when travelling through the intersection
