Update: Extension of Intermittent Sidewalk Closures at Mount Pleasant Station Friday, October 18, 2019

Starting Friday October 18, the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Ave E will be closed intermittently for one (1) week to accommodate ongoing piling work at Mount Pleasant Station. Intermittent sidewalk closures will take place from the north-easterly corner of Mt Pleasant Rd. and Eglinton Ave to 300 Eglinton Ave. The closures will take place between 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. Access to the surrounding buildings and TTC will be maintained at all times.

The sidewalk will be reopened from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. to mitigate disturbances to pedestrian traffic. Traffic control personnel will be present while these closures take place to assist pedestrians with navigating the area.

  • Friday October 18 for one (1) week
  • From 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • The sidewalk will be reopened from 8 a.m. – 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. – 4p.m.
  • The sidewalk will not be closed every day, only when required.
  • The sidewalk closure may be in effect shorter or longer than expected.

 

What to Expect

  • The north sidewalk on Eglinton Ave will be closed intermittently while this work takes place.
  • The east crosswalk will remain closed, and the west crosswalk will be open.
  • Turns in all directions at Mt Pleasant Rd. and Eglinton Ave. will remain prohibited.
  • The northbound left turn from Brownlow Ave. onto Eglinton Ave. will be prohibited.
  • The northbound left turn from Taunton Rd. onto Eglinton Ave. will be prohibited.
  • Rawlinson Ave. will remain closed.
  • Access to the surrounding buildings and TTC will be maintained at all times.
  • Traffic control personnel will be present while this closure takes place.
