Pedestrian Changes at Mount Pleasant and Eglinton Friday, October 25, 2019

As early as Friday October 25, changes to pedestrian routes in the Mt Pleasant and Eglinton area will be implemented to accommodate excavation and piling work at Mount Pleasant Station. East of the intersection, pedestrians will be rerouted around the south side of the work zone on Eglinton Ave. Concrete barriers will be implemented to delineate pedestrians from construction and street traffic. The north-south crosswalk on the east side of Eglinton Avenue will remain closed, and the crosswalk on the west side of Eglinton Ave will be open. This configuration will be in place for approximately two (2) weeks until early November 2019.  Access to the surrounding buildings and businesses will be maintained at all times. Additional signage will be posted to assist pedestrians with navigating the area.

  • As early as Friday, October 25, 2019 for approximately two (2) weeks.
  • This configuration may be in place shorter or longer than expected.
  • This work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Pedestrian rerouting along the southside of the north-east work zone.
  • Traffic on Mt Pleasant Rd. will remain on the west.
  • The east crosswalk will remain closed, and the west crosswalk will be open.
  • Turns in all directions at Mt Pleasant Rd. and Eglinton Ave. will remain prohibited.
  • The northbound left turn from Brownlow Ave. onto Eglinton Ave. will be prohibited.
  • The northbound left turn from Taunton Rd. onto Eglinton Ave. will be prohibited.
  • Rawlinson Ave. will remain closed.
  • Noise, lighting and traffic delays can be expected while the changes are being implemented.
  • Access the surrounding buildings and businesses will be maintained at all times.
