What Work is Taking Place
As early as Saturday, November 30, 2019, a new traffic configuration will be implemented at Kennedy Rd and Eglinton Avenue East to facilitate construction of the future Kennedy LRT Station and guideway. An additional southbound through lane on Kennedy Road at Eglinton Avenue East will be restored and the west crosswalk will be reinstated at the intersection. This traffic set up is expected to remain in place through spring 2020.
The new traffic configuration will be implemented overnight when traffic is lighter.
Upcoming Traffic Configuration
Hours of Work
• The new traffic configuration will be implemented as early as November 30, 2019
• The new traffic configuration may be implemented overnight when traffic is lighter
• This configuration may be in place shorter or longer than expected
• Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances
Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts
• An additional southbound through lane on Kennedy Road at Eglinton Avenue East will be restored
• The west crosswalk will be reopened at the intersection for pedestrian access
• Eastbound traffic will be shifted south of the work zone approaching Kennedy Road
• Westbound traffic will remain on the northside of Eglinton Avenue East
• North and southbound turns onto Eglinton Avenue East will be permitted in both directions
• Emergency services access will be maintained
TTC Impacts
• The westbound temporary bus stop will be shifted east.
• All other temporary TTC bus stops will remain in their current locations.
• Relocation and re-routing of bus stops and buses is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely, while minimizing impact on the community and customers
