What Work is Taking Place?

From Saturday February 15 – Sunday February 16, 2020 crews will install geotechnical monitoring equipment within the eastbound lane on Eglinton Avenue East. 

In order to safely and promptly carry out this work, Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane directions between Brownlow Avenue and Taunton Road, alternating traffic in each direction. During this work, Mount Pleasant Road will remain open. Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty officer will be present, while this work takes place

Work will begin on Saturday February 15 at 5:00 a.m. and carry through to Sunday February 16 until 4:00 p.m. Once the work is complete, traffic on Eglinton Avenue East will be restored to one lane in each direction. Crews will endeavour to minimize disruptions as much as possible.

 

Hours of Work

Saturday February 15 beginning at 5:00 a.m., through to Sunday February 16 at 4:00 p.m.

Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances

 

 

What to Expect

Expect delays when travelling near work zones.

Motorists can expect delays when travelling through the intersection.

Mount Pleasant Road will remain open while this work takes place.

Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty officer will be present while this work takes place. 

Nearby businesses and residents can expect noise from construction activity. 

 

Pedestrian and Traffic Changes

Eglinton Avenue East will be reduced to one lane between Brownlow Avenue and Taunton Road, alternating traffic in each direction.

All pedestrian routes will remain the same.

Access to the TTC will be maintained at all times.

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
