Upcoming Concrete Pour at Mount Pleasant Station - Saturday, February 1, 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Saturday February 1, 2020, crews will perform a concrete pour in the northeast work zone at Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue East.  The concrete will form part of the roof of Mount Pleasant Station. Two concrete pumps will be set up within the work zone.

Concrete trucks will stage on Eglinton Avenue East, within the median at Taunton Road and west of Brownlow Avenue. Trucks will also stage on the east side of Mount Pleasant Road, south of Eglinton Avenue East. Street parking on the east side of Mount Pleasant Road, between Eglinton Avenue East and Soudan Avenue, will be restricted while this work takes place. 

Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place. To ensure the integrity and continuity of the pour, work will begin as early as 4:00 a.m. and take approximately sixteen (16) hours to complete. 

 

Hours of Work

As early as Saturday, February 1, 2020.

Beginning as early as 4 a.m. for approximately sixteen (16) hours.

Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances

 

 

What to Expect

Two concrete pumps will be stationed inside the work zone.

8+ concrete trucks are expected per hour.

Noise from construction activity can be expected.

Traffic Control Personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place.

 

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts 

All pedestrian routes will remain the same.

Concrete trucks will stage on:

o Eglinton Avenue East, within the median at Taunton Road.

o Eglinton Avenue East, west of Brownlow Avenue.

o The east side of Mount Pleasant Road, south of Eglinton Avenue East. 

Street parking on the east side of Mount Pleasant Road, between Eglinton Avenue East and Soudan Avenue, will be restricted while this work takes place.

Noise from construction activity can be expected.

Traffic Control Personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place.

Access to the TTC will be maintained at all times.

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
