Pedestrian Path & Laneway Closure for Overnight Concrete Pour at Forest Hill Station - March 16, 2020

Since fall 2019, crews have conducted several closures of the pedestrian path around the Forest Hill Station Secondary Entrance site to carry out concrete pours. The next concrete pour is scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2020. The concrete will form the walls of the Secondary Entrance structure. The Hilltop Road-Bathurst Street laneway and pedestrian path around the Secondary Entrance will be closed while the pour takes place. Once the pour is complete, the pedestrian path and laneway will re-open. 

Hours of Work 

  • Monday, March 16, 2020, from 4:00 a.m. for approximately 12 hours
  • The laneway and pedestrian walkways will be closed for the duration of the pour
  • This date is subject to change; work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

What to Expect

  • The Hilltop Rd-Bathurst St laneway will be closed behind the Secondary Entrance site
  • The pedestrian walkway around the Secondary Entrance site will be temporarily closed during this activity
  • Property access, including access to private laneway parking, will be maintained
  • Overnight/early morning noise from construction as well as site lighting can be expected
  • 10+ concrete trucks expected per hour during the concrete pour
  • Expect delays when travelling near work zones

Pedestrian Details

  • The pedestrian pathway around the Secondary Entrance site will be closed
  • The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West will remain open on either side of the Secondary Entrance
  • Pedestrians can cross Eglinton Avenue West at Rostrevor Rd to the west and Bathurst St to the east

Traffic Details

  • No through-access through the laneway will be permitted
  • Bathurst St and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open during this work
  • Concrete trucks will be staged in the northbound curb lane on Bathurst St between Rosemary Lane and Dewbourne Ave, and within work zones

Travelling Smart during Construction 

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
