What Work is Taking Place?

In late March 2020, the bus loop at Eglinton West Station will be closed for approximately five (5) months while crews construct part of the roof of Cedarvale Station. Temporary covered bus platforms will be constructed on the north and south sides of Eglinton Avenue West to maintain TTC bus service to-and-from Eglinton West Station. Construction of the southside platform will begin Saturday March 14, 2020 for approximately one (1) week. Once the bus loop closes, significant changes to TTC service will be in effect. Starting Saturday March 14, 2020, Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to two eastbound lanes between Allen Road South and Winona Drive, and will remain that way until the bus loop reopens in late summer 2020. This traffic change will be performed overnight from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. when traffic is lighter.

Additionally, Eglinton Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Atlas Avenue and Allen Road South beginning Monday March 16 to Friday March 20, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. while crews construct the southside platform and widen sidewalk.

Hours of Work

  • Saturday March 14, 2020 for approximately one (1) week
  • Traffic changes will take place overnight beginning Saturday March 14 to Sunday March 15, 2020 from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
  • Lane reductions will take place Monday March 16 to Friday March 20, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

What to Expect

  • The bus loop at Eglinton West Station will be closed from March 29, 2020 to late summer 2020
  • Installation of a bus platform on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West, west of Allen Road South
  • Expect delays when travelling through the intersection 

Pedestrian Changes

  • Pedestrian routes at Allen Road South and Eglinton Avenue West will remain the same
  • Pedestrian access to Eglinton West Station will be maintained at all times

Traffic Changes

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
