What Work is Taking Place?

On Wednesday, April 8, 2020, a mobile crane will be delivered to the Chaplin Station Main Entrance site.  The crane will travel north on Chaplin Crescent to Spadina Road, turn onto New Haven Drive and continue south on Gilgorm Road.  The crane will be used to unload equipment from Eglinton Avenue into the site.  Once the equipment has been unloaded, the crane will be removed from the site following the same route. 

To provide adequate space, parking on Gilgorm Road, New Haven Drive and Spadina Road will be prohibited from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 8, 2020.  Additionally, Eglinton Avenue will be reduced to one lane only between Chaplin Crescent and Latimer Avenue from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. while equipment is unloaded.

  • Wednesday April 8, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled, or be longer or shorter than expected

Pedestrian & Traffic Details

  • On-street parking on Gilgorm Rd, New Haven Dr and Spadina Rd will be prohibited from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Eglinton will be reduced to one lane only between Chaplin Cres and Latimer Ave from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., alternating traffic in each direction using traffic control personnel
  •  Motorists can expect delays when travelling through the area

 

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
