Inner Wall Demolition at Avenue Station

mai 8, 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

Mining excavation is nearing completion at Avenue Station, with crews breaking-out the remaining inner walls between Eastbourne Avenue and Lascelles Boulevard.

Intermittent wall demolition works will continue through to approximately late-May 2020, with crews operating 24-hours a day, five (5) days a week. Once these works are complete, permanent works, including final lining and concrete pours, will commence east of the secondary entrance.

To ensure the structural integrity of the cavern, crews are required to work on a 24-hour basis. During these works, nearby properties may experience noise and/or vibration. Crews will endeavor to complete these works during the day, however due to the sequence nature of the work, occasional overnight work may be required. If you experience disruption from mining activities, please call our 24/7 phone line at 416-782-8118.

Hours of Work

  • Intermittently until late-May 2020.
  • Work will take place on a 24-hours a day, five (5) days per week.
  • Wall demolition works are not expected to be performed daily, only when required.
  • Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
