Update: Eglinton West Station Bus Loop Closure

What Work is Taking Place?

The Eglinton West Station bus loop remains closed while crews perform roof construction for the future Cedarvale LRT Station. Roof construction, currently underway on the east side of the bus loop, has been extended until mid-fall 2020. In addition to roof construction, crews are constructing the station’s inner concourse walls and installing permanent utilities.

What to Expect

Eglinton West Station remains open but buses are not entering the station. Significant changes to TTC service are in effect. Please review the complete notice on our website or visit www.ttc.ca for more information.    

HOURS OF WORK

  • The Eglinton West Station bus loop will remain closed until mid-fall 2020
  • Roof construction takes place seven (7) days per week from 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
  • Construction hours are subject to change; overnight work may be required
  • Please note that extended construction hours are currently underway for deep excavation and TTC underpinning works

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West is reduced to one lane in each direction during off-peak hours between Atlas Avenue and Park Hill Road
  • Public vehicles are permitted to access both curb lanes during peak hours, providing two lanes of traffic in each direction
  • The eastbound left turn lane will remain for vehicles turning onto Allen Road North

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

  • Pedestrian routes at Allen Road South and Eglinton Avenue West will remain the same
  • Pedestrian access to Eglinton West Station will be maintained at all times
  • Transit riders travelling to-and-from Eglinton West Station by bus are required to walk to-and-from the temporary bus platforms or to the nearest stop; buses will not enter the bus loop
  • During the closure, crossing guards will be stationed at the Allen Road South and Eglinton Avenue West crosswalks between 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. to assist pedestrians crossing the intersection
  • TTC ambassadors will be on-site to help transit riders navigate the area during the first weeks of school

TRANSIT INFORMATION

Two temporary covered bus platforms are installed on Eglinton Avenue West (see map). The bus platforms are accessible and provide TTC bus service to-and-from Eglinton West Station, serving up to three buses at a time.

WHEEL-TRANS BUS

Wheel-Trans service has been diverted to Lawrence West and St. Clair West stations. For more information on elevator service and accessible alternatives please visit:

63 OSSINGTON BUS ROUTE

The 63 Ossington bus will terminate at St Clair Avenue West. A new temporary bus route, 163 Oakwood, provides service north of St Clair Avenue West, between Ossington Station and Lawrence West Station.

109 RANEE BUS ROUTE

The 109 Ranee will be diverted and will terminate at Lawrence West Station.

32D EGLINTON BUS ROUTE

The 32D Eglinton West bus will be extended to terminate at Eglinton Station.

EGLINTON STATION

The 51 Leslie and 56 Leaside buses are required to use Duplex and Berwick Avenues to access the bus terminal at Eglinton Station.

Signage is in place to direct TTC riders.  TTC ambassadors will be on-site to help transit riders navigate the area during the first weeks of the closure.
