Duct Bank Installation at The West Don River Bridge
What Work is Taking Place?
Crews will begin installing duct banks under the West Don River Bridge as early as October 5, 2020. To perform this work safely, an alternating lane closure under the bridge will be in place for approximately six (6) weeks. Access to the E.T Seaton Park parking lot, south of Eglinton Avenue East will be maintained. There will be no impacts to traffic on Eglinton Avenue East.
What to Expect
An alternating lane closure under the West Don River Bridge will be in place to facilitate bridge works. Crews will be installing duct banks under the bridge using a manlift and an excavator to lift the materials into place. Minimal noise can be expected at the work zone for these activities.
Hours of Work
- Work will begin as early as October 5, 2020 for a period of six (6) weeks.
- Work may occur from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven (7) days per week, Monday through Sunday.
- Work may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic & Pedestrian Details
- An alternating closure of one lane under the West Don River Bridge will be implemented.
- There will be no changes to the existing traffic configuration on Eglinton Avenue East for these activities.
- There will be no changes to the existing pedestrian routes.
Transit Information
- There will be no changes to existing TTC stop locations for this work
Other Information
- Minimal noise from construction vehicles and crews at the work zones can be expected.
- Site lighting may be required.
