What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Wednesday December 10, the traffic configuration at Kennedy Rd and Eglinton Ave E will change for approximately eight months. Traffic entering South Service Road will be restricted to TTC vehicles only. Vehicles entering Transway Crescent will not be permitted beyond the Kennedy Station Passenger Pick-Up and south parking lot access points. 

 

What to Expect

Signal timing will be changed at Kennedy Road as well as the North and South Service Road to accommodate these changes. Paid duty officers will be onsite at the intersection to enforce vehicle compliance with the new traffic configuration. An additional officer will be in position to control pedestrian movements at Transway Crescent and the station entrance. Noise from construction equipment and crews can be expected at the worksite.

 

HOURS OF WORK

• The traffic change will be implemented as early as December 10, 2020 and remain in place for approximately eight (8) months.

• Work may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.

 

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Vehicles entering Transway Crescent will not be permitted beyond the Kennedy Station Passenger Pick-Up and south parking lot access points. 

• Signal timing will be changed at Kennedy Road as well as the North and South Service Road to accommodate these changes.

• Right turn from eastbound lane on Eglinton and left turn from westbound lane on Eglinton onto South Service Rd will be prohibited.

• Left turn from eastbound lane on Eglinton onto North Service Rd will be prohibited. 

• Advanced signage will be provided along Eglinton Ave E and Kennedy Rd to inform traffic of the closure of South Service Rd. 

 

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Ave East, east of the old South Service Road will remain closed for the duration of the project.

 

TTC DETAILS

• Traffic entering South Service Road will be restricted to TTC vehicles only. 

• The bus stops on the North Service Road will be out of service for the duration of the project.
