Tower Crane Removal at Science Centre Station
WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?
As part of the construction of the future Science Centre Station, crews will be removing a tower crane within the construction zone on Eglinton Avenue East, east of Don Mills Road. There will be a temporary change to the traffic configuration beginning at 7:00 a.m. on September 29, 2019 (depicted below) to accommodate the removal.
TIMING
- The work will begin as early as 7:00 a.m. on September 29, 2019 and continue to 12:00 a.m. on September 30, 2019.
- Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and shifted to the north side of Eglinton Avenue East.
- Eastbound Eglinton left turns onto northbound Don Mills will not be permitted during this time.
- All pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection will remain open.
- The sidewalk will remain open on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East; the south side will be closed.
- Paid duty officers will be on site.
- Road users can expect delays when travelling through the work zone.
