What Work is Taking Place?

The Eglinton Crosstown requires a radio system to allow communication among Operator and Maintenance personnel, including dispatchers, mobile staff, and Revenue Vehicle drivers. The system requires four radio sites to ensure we have proper radio coverage along the whole alignment.

On Thursday August 6, crews will be installing the EMSF antenna mast. It is approximately 40m tall, and once installed, there will be two flashing red lights at the top for aviation safety. Installation will take approximately two days to complete.

What to Expect

Crews will be installing the 40m antenna mast within the EMSF. Once installed, the two red lights (aviation light) will be turned on. The parking lot within the EMSF will be closed for the duration of the work, and no traffic impacts are expected outside of the EMSF. There will be a crane on site to erect the mast.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

  • The parking lot within the EMSF will be closed for the duration of this work.
  • There are no changes to existing traffic configurations in the area.

PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • All TTC bus stops will remain in their current locations.
  • There will be no impacts to public sidewalks.

HOURS OF WORK

  • Work will begin as early as Thursday August 6 and take approximately two days to complete.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.

OTHER IMPACTS
