What Work is Taking Place?

Crews will begin backfilling and compaction work at the main station entrance site of the future Fairbank Station.  This work involves refilling and leveling the demolition site with fresh granular material, compaction of the material into the ground, and construction of the crane and drill rig pad.  This activity will prepare the site for support of excavation, the next phase of construction following utilities relocation.  Ongoing Rogers utilities relocation at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street will continue during this activity.

  • Beginning in early October 2016 for approximately two (2) weeks
  • This work will take place between the hours of 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion
  • In the event that overnight work is required, Metrolinx will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout
  • This work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances
