What Work isTaking Place?
To accommodate the continued construction of Birchmount Stop and as part of the final intersection configuration, the eastbound left turn movement at Eglinton Avenue East and Birchmount Road will be permanently removed as early as September 15, 2020.
The westbound left turn movement was removed permanently late 2019.
What to Expect
Permanent removal of the eastbound left turn movement at the Eglinton Avenue East and Birchmount Road intersection. Advanced signage will be installed to alert drivers of the new turn prohibition. As part of the final configuration, left turns will be available at Warden Avenue and Kennedy Road.
HOURS OF WORK
- Removal of the eastbound left turn movement will take place as early as September 15, 2020.
- Stop construction will continue east and west of the intersection. Work may take place Monday through Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- This work may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather.
TRAFFIC DETAILS
- Permanent removal of the eastbound left turn at Eglinton Ave E and Birchmount Rd.
PEDESTRIAN AND TTC DETAILS
- There will be no changes to existing pedestrian routes or TTC stop locations.
OTHER IMPACTS
- Noise can be expected from construction equipment, vehicles and crews.
- Site lighting may be required.
