Eglinton Crosstown Open House at Leaside

On Tuesday, March 18, Councillor John Parker hosted an Open House about the Eglinton Crosstown Project.

At Leaside Gardens, Councillor Parker was joined by staff from the Crosstown project and Toronto Transportation Services, to discuss Eglinton Crosstown construction work progressing into Leaside, with work on the east tunnel and Laird and Bayview stations set to begin.

Steel Beam / Pile Removal on Eglinton West Near Glen Cedar Road (Stage 2) - Update

The Eglinton Crosstown is a transit project that will provide rapid and reliable service across Eglinton Avenue. It includes an underground central section from Keele Street to Laird Drive, and will bring transit service that will be up to 60% faster than bus service today.

What work is starting?

What: Crews will be removing steel beams or piles in conflict with The Crosstown tunnel route located on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West near Glen Cedar Road. Read more »

What: Crews will be repairing a small section of City of Toronto sewer adjacent to the sidewalk on Eglinton Ave, west of Oakwood Ave for several weeks.

What is the Crosstown?

The Eglinton Crosstown is a 19 kilometre light rail transit (LRT) line that will run along Eglinton Avenue through the heart of Toronto, with an underground central section. The line will connect Mount Dennis in the west to Kennedy Road in the east, and the new service will be up to 60% faster than the bus service today.

What:  Installation of piles for the building of the station headwalls in the centre of the Eglinton Avenue will require two full road closures of Eglinton Avenue West at Dufferin Street. Read more »

Chaplin Station Open Houses
