WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

The West Don River Bridge is being rehabilitated as part of the construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT. Works include deck replacement, reinforcement and repairs to the abutments and beams to the bridge.

On Friday, June 21, 2019 a closure of the road and trail under the West Don River Bridge will be implemented to accommodate a concrete pour at the West Don River Bridge on Eglinton Avenue East. The pour will take up to one (1) day to complete. There will be no access to the parking lot at the E.T. Seton Park at this time.The closure is required for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.  

All works are in support of the construction of the Crosstown and new LRT tracks and guideway (dedicated transit lane) in the center of Eglinton Avenue East.


TIMING 

  • Starting as early as Friday, June 21 and lasting for approximately one (1) day.
  • The closure will occur between the hours of 4:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion. Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACT

  • The road and trail passing underneath the West Don River Bridge on Eglinton Avenue East, will be temporarily   closed for the duration of the work to protect the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
  • Signage will be installed in advance notifying the public of the closure.
