What Work is Taking Place?

Crews at Fairbank continue to perform large concrete pours. On Tuesday July 28 and Thursday July 30, crews will be pouring walls within the station box. Work will begin as early as 6:00am and each pour will be ongoing for approximately 12 hours. Concrete pumps will be placed within the main entrance work zone in the southeast corner of the intersection. Concrete trucks will be staged on Dufferin St, south of Eglinton Ave W. The laneway parallel to Eglinton Ave W between Dynevor Rd and Dufferin St will remain open. Dufferin St and Eglinton Ave W will remain open while work takes place.

Hours of Work

  • Tuesday July 28 and Thursday July 30.
  • The concrete pours will begin as early as 6:00 a.m. and last for approximately 12 hours.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected.

What to Expect

  • Concrete trucks will be staged on Dufferin St, south of Eglinton Ave W.  
  • Noise from concrete trucks can be expected.
  • Local and pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • Property access will be maintained.
  • Expect delays while travelling near work zones.

 

Traffic Details

  • The pedestrian routes at the intersection will remain the same.
  • Access to properties along Vaughan Rd, Eglinton Ave W and Dufferin St will be maintained.
  • No impacts to TTC bus service.

 

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
