Update: Resumption of Overnight Utility Relocation Work on Transway Crescent for the Future Kennedy Station

What Work is Taking Place?

As part of construction of the future Kennedy Station, crews will resume relocating watermain and sanitary utilities on Transway Crescent, starting as soon as July 15, 2018.

To reduce impacts to the community and commuters this work will be performed overnight and will take approximately three (3) weeks to complete.  The work is part of the larger upgrade and relocation of utilities for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

Toronto Hydro Work Relocation across Yonge Street

What Work is Taking Place?

To prepare for the construction of Eglinton Station, crews will begin the next phase of re-routing existing hydro utilities in the vicinity of Eglinton Avenue and Yonge Street.  

For this next stretch of the work, crews will be working to install new Toronto Hydro infrastructure within the City of Toronto’s public right-of-way across Yonge Street. Crews may use a hydro-vacuum truck, excavators, jack-hammer and other construction equipment to complete the work. Read more »

Support of Excavation Works at the North End of Kennedy GO Station Platform as Part of Eglinton Crosstown LRT

What Work is Taking Place?

As part of construction of the future Eglinton Crosstown LRT, improvements are also being made to the GO Transit Stouffville Corridor at Kennedy GO Station. Improvements include building a new west platform; rebuilding the existing east platform; constructing a new ticketing building for the GO Station; and building a new south pedestrian underpass. Update: Traffic & Pedestrian Changes at Leaside Station

In early July, the sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, between Bayview Avenue and the Eglinton Avenue entrance to Sunnybrook Plaza will be closed. The closure will be in effect during this stage for approximately seven weeks with a possible extension during the next stage of work.

Pedestrians should use the signalized crossings at Bessborough Drive/Don Lea Drive and on the west side of Bayview Avenue at Eglinton Avenue to get around the closure by using the south side of Eglinton Avenue.  Read more »

Wet Utility Upgrades along Surface Section of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT: Victoria Park to Eglinton Square

What Work is Taking Place?

As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be upgrading and relocating wet utilities along Eglinton Avenue between Victoria Park Avenue and Eglinton Square.

Starting as early as July 3rd and lasting approximately four (4) weeks, crews will install new pipes, and replace manholes and catch basins. This work supports the upgrade of water infrastructure across Eglinton Avenue East for the future Crosstown surface stops. Read more »
