Mt. Pleasant Road Closure and Overnight Work: April 27 – 30, 2018 and Overnight Water Shut-off on Friday April 27

 

What Work is Taking Place?

Since April 14, crews have carried out weekend closures of Mt. Pleasant Road between Eglinton Ave E and Roehampton Ave to perform hydro utility relocation work. As part of this work, a watermain cut-and-cap will be performed, requiring a temporary water shut-off.  Read more »

Upcoming Works at Eglinton Station: Next Phase of Support of Excavation

What Work is Taking Place?

Support of excavation work, also known as shoring, has commenced to make way for the future Eglinton interchange station. This work will include pile installation, jet grouting and road deck installation. Shoring will be conducted in phases, beginning in the former TTC bus depot on the southeast corner of Yonge and Eglinton and along the south side of Eglinton Avenue between Duplex Avenue and Holly Street.  Read more »

Additional Dewatering Wells for the Avenue Station Main Entrance

WHAT WORK IS TAKING PLACE?

The term “dewatering” means pumping water from the ground at a site where there will be excavation. At Eglinton Avenue West and Avenue Road, small wells have been drilled around the entire station box where the underground mining excavation will be taking place. The dewatering system is installed in two phases, drilling of the wells and then digging shallow trenches to connect the wells and lay the pipes, pumps, and valves for the system. The volume of soil that requires dewatering is significant.  Read more »
