What Work is Taking Place?
As part of construction of the future surface alignment for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT, crews will be closing the west side crosswalk (north-south) at Pharmacy Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East intersection as early as Monday, November 19, 2018 for approximately five (5) weeks.
The closure is required to provide safe and adequate space for catch basin installation and boulevard work.
Hours of Work
- As early as Monday, November 19, 2018 for approximately five (5) weeks.
- Permitted hours are 7:00 am – 11:00 pm Monday through Sunday
- Note: Unexpected circumstances (weather, equipment failure, etc.) may also change the above interruption plans or prolong the interruption. If this occurs, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice.
What to Expect
- The crosswalk on the west side (north-south) of the intersection of Pharmacy Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East will be closed for the duration of this work.
- Lane reductions are required to safely conduct this work.
- The duration of the closure may be longer of shorter than expected.
- Pedestrians must cross safely at the next available crosswalks.
Pedestrian Impacts
- The crosswalk on the west side (north-south) of the intersection of Pharmacy Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East will be closed for the duration of this work.
- The east side, north side, and south side crosswalks will remain open.
- Pedestrians must cross safely at the next available crosswalks.
- Please watch for signage as you make your way through the intersection.
TTC Impacts
- TTC bus stops in the affected area may be relocated for the safety of transit riders.
- In the event of relocation, please watch for posted signs indicating the adjusted locations.
- Relocation and re-routing of bus stops and buses respectively, is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers.
