What Work is Taking Place?
As part of continued construction of the West LRT Portal and Elevated Guideway, crews will be installing a new curb along the south side of Eglinton Avenue West from Black Creek Drive to Keelsdale Park Road.
One eastbound lane at Black Creek Drive will be restricted in order to safely carry out the work.
Work is expected to begin as early as September 24th and last for approximately 3-4 weeks.
Traffic and Pedestrian Details
- One eastbound lane at Black Creek Drive will be restricted in order to safely carry out the work.
- The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue from Black Creek Drive to Bicknell Avenue will remain closed.
- All currently open crosswalks will be maintained for this stage of work.
- At least one (1) lane in each direction east-west along Eglinton Avenue will be maintained.
- Conditions may change due to unforeseen circumstances and will be communicated separately.
What to Expect
- Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by a pile drill, crane, loaders, trucks and other construction equipment, as well as dust from drilling activity and debris removal.
- Heavy truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone.
- In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
Travelling Smart during Construction
Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
