Demolition Work Resuming at for Forest Hill Station

What Work is Taking Place?

In mid-June 2016, crews will begin demolition of 875 Eglinton Avenue West to make room for a construction laydown area for the future Forest Hill Station.  The area will host equipment, material and construction vehicles for the duration of station construction.  Upon completion of station construction, the land will be turned over to a third party for future development.  For the safety of the public and workers, temporary sidewalk, laneway and road closures will be in effect to accommodate this work.

Timing

•  Work is permitted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., 7 days a week
• The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion
•  In the event that overnight work is required, Metrolinx and CTS will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout

What to Expect

• Nearby businesses and residents can expect increased noise caused by trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other construction equipment, as well as dust from demolition activity and debris removal

Pedestrian Details

(subject to all relevant approvals)

For safety purposes, temporary sidewalk closures will be in effect to accommodate this work:

Bathurst Street

• The west sidewalk between 2016 and 2020 Bathurst Street will be closed for approximately one day, beginning as early as June 13

Peveril Hill North

• The east sidewalk on Peveril Hill North between Eglinton Avenue West and the east laneway will be closed for approximately two weeks, beginning as early as June 20
• The east laneway on Peveril Hill North (behind 875 Eglinton Avenue West) will be closed to pedestrian access for approximately two weeks, beginning as early as June 20
• Access to the north-south portion of the east laneway will be maintained via Dewbourne Avenue

Eglinton Avenue West

• The south sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue West between Peveril Hill North and Bathurst Street will be closed for approximately three days, beginning as early as June 27
• Access to properties along Peveril Hill North, Eglinton Avenue West and Bathurst Street will be maintained

Bathurst Street

• The southbound, curbside lane of Bathurst Street will be closed between 2016 and 2020 Bathurst Street for approximately one day, beginning as early as June 13

Peveril Hill North

• The east laneway on Peveril Hill North (behind 875 Eglinton Avenue West) will be closed for approximately two weeks, beginning as early as June 20
• Access to the north-south portion of the east laneway will be maintained via Dewbourne Avenue
• Peveril Hill North will be closed between Eglinton Avenue West and the east laneway for approximately two weeks, beginning as early as June 20
• Access to properties along Peveril Hill North and Bathurst Street will be maintained
