What work is starting?
What: Repair/maintenance is required for the road decking on Eglinton Avenue East at the emergency exit building near Leaside High School.
When: Starting Saturday, May 28 at 8:00 p.m. through the early hours of Sunday, May 29 until work is complete. Work could be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Traffic Details:
- Eastbound through traffic on Eglinton will be rerouted north on Donlea Drive and south on Hanna Road to continue east on Eglinton Avenue East.
- Westbound through traffic on Eglinton will be rerouted north on Hanna Road to west on Donlea Drive to continue west on Eglinton Avenue East.
- Local access will be maintained eastbound for south side residents to enter/exit their driveway.
Pedestrians
- The north-south crosswalk at Leaside High School will be temporarily closed for this construction.
- To ensure the safety of pedestrians during road decking repair, there will be no through pedestrian traffic on the north Eglinton sidewalk between Donlea Drive and Hanna Road.
- Pedestrians will be temporarily diverted to the south side Eglinton sidewalk and cross the street at Bayview Avenue or Rumsey Road.
- For safety reasons, pedestrians will be separated from construction work with construction barrels.
- Please watch for additional signs directing pedestrians and take care when travelling near construction areas.
Transit Information
34 Eglinton East and 334 Eglinton night bus routes will be re-routed for this repair work.
Work Hours
This work will be carried out starting at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening, overnight to early hours of Sunday until work is complete.
