What Work Is Taking Place?

In Summer 2020, crews completed excavation works at Leaside Station. Permanent works are currently taking place within the Station Box beneath Eglinton Avenue and at the Main, and Secondary Entrance sites. Permanent works are construction activities that shape the final station structure underground. These activities include waterproofing, placement of rebar/steel, mechanical and electrical installations, and concrete pours.

Beginning in late September 2020, permanent works and associated site maintenance will take place 24-hours a day, Monday through Friday. To minimize disruption, the period between 11:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. will be reserved for works within the Station Box, located approximately 20 metres beneath surface level. Occasional overnight work may be required on weekends to complete critical activities. Extended construction hours for permanent works at Leaside Station will continue through early 2021.

Occasionally, large concrete pours and deliveries are required to take place at the Main and Secondary Entrance sites during the early morning period. Notice will be provided separately for these works.

What to Expect?

Overnight work will take place approximately 20 metres below ground – minimal noise is expected. Site lighting is required and will be positioned away from residential properties. Property access will be maintained at all times.
